The following sightings were taken from the reserve at Castle Espie during a rising high tide. The bird of the week this week is the Lapwing.

Estuary - visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Lesser Black-backed Gull 4, Herring Gull 75, Black-headed Gull 20, Oystercatcher 181, Lapwing 5, Curlew 77, hooded crow 1, Eider 2.6, Cormorant 3, Common seal ~20

Main lake - visible from Sensory Garden and Visitor Centre

Kingfisher 1, Common Tern 3 (plus 2 chicks), Gadwall 2 (plus 13 ducklings), Tufted Duck 2 (plus 10 ducklings), Coot 1, Moorhen 2, Pintail (female) 1, Little Grebe 3, Mallard 70, Lesser-black backed gull 2, Raven 2, Sparrowhawk 1, Jackdaw 2, Swallow, Blackbird, Wood pigeon, Grey wagtail , Sand Martin, Chaffinch
