Recent Sightings €- 25th June 2018

The following sightings were recorded today at Mid- High tide from the reserve at Castle Espie.

There are some Tufted duck families out on our lagoons currently. Keep an eye out for the cute black fluffy ducklings following their mother on the Freshwater Lagoon and the Main lake.

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Black-headed Gull 13, Lesser black-backed gull 5, Black-tailed Godwit 1, Little Egret 1, Oystercatcher 428

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard 39, Tufted duck 8 + chicks 2, Black-headed gull 53, Moorhen 2, Goldeneye, Greylag 3 + gosling 6, Coot 4, Little Grebe 1

Shingle bank – visible from Sensory garden, Wadermarsh and Visitor Centre

Black-headed gull 47, Greylag 8, Oystercatcher 3, Moorhen 4

Wadermarsh – visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide

Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannóg
