Mudfest is a fun-filled outdoor event at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre designed for families to stomp, splash and squelch in nature. It runs during February half term 2026 and encourages children to enjoy messy, muddy play, explore wetlands, and connect with nature.
Mudfest runs throughout February half term 2026 at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre, from Saturday 14th February to Sunday 22nd February 2026.
Wear waterproof clothing and boots or wellies – things will get muddy! Bringing spare clothes for children is a good idea so they can enjoy messy play without worry. Boot brushes are available to use by the doors to the visitor centre. We'd highly recommend packing a towel or two for the ride home.
Mudfest is perfect for families with children of all ages, and great fun for adults! Activities are designed for safe, nature-based play. There are lots of sensory elements to our Mudfest activities, and lots of opportunities to use imagination and creativity!
There's no need to book, but you can save 10% if you book online in advance. All Mudfest activities are included in entry, which is free for WWT members and under 3s.
Yes, there is free on-site parking for visitors at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre. Spaces are available for cars and coaches, and there is accessible parking close to the entrance. There is also plenty of parking for bicycles, including some sheltered parking.
Yes, most of the paths at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre are accessible — but some muddy areas may be challenging. We have marked alternative routes for particularly wet or tricky areas. We have accessible toilets in the visitor centre, as well as baby changing facilities.
Unfortunately we can't allow dogs or pets of any kind on site, with the exception of trained assistance dogs. Trained assistance dogs must be kept on their lead and under control at all times, as our wildlife may become distressed.
If any of our birds/animals behaviour is affected by the presence of your assistance dog, we respectfully ask that you understand that we may have to ask you to move away from the area.
Please do not leave your dog in your car whilst visiting.
