Grassland Wild Walk - July

A relaxed guided walk exploring the wildlife and plant life that flourish across our healthy summer grasslands, highlighting the colour, insects and new growth that make this landscape so special.

Grassland Wild Walk - July

Join us for a Grasslands Biodiversity Walk

Date: Saturday 3rd July

Time: 11am – 12pm

Meeting point: Meet in WWT Washington Centre – Picture Window

Take a relaxed stroll with our volunteer Melissa as she explores the wildlife and plant life that flourish across our healthy summer grasslands. Early summer brings fresh growth, bursts of colour and plenty of insect activity, making it a wonderful time to notice the small details of the natural world.

We’ll take a gentle look at meadow flowers, grassland insects, bees, butterflies and the wider biodiversity supported by this rich habitat. If the sun is shining, we’ll also explore how different creatures feed, shelter and pollinate within these ecosystems.

A calm, easy walk suitable for anyone who enjoys discovering how vibrant and diverse grasslands become when they’re allowed to thrive.

Accessibility: The route follows accessible paths with level viewing points & clear signage. Spotter guides are simple to use, & info boards are placed at accessible heights. Visitors can explore at their own pace, making the safari suitable for a range of mobility & sensory needs. See more information about our centres accessibility here.
