Recent Sightings 22nd January
Reduced visibility during low tide on the estuary today, so lower counts than usual. The following sightings were recorded today from the reserve at Castle Espie:
Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory
Shelduck 154, Brent goose 38, Curlew 2, Oystercatcher 8, Black-tailed godwit 1
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 262, Coot 6, Moorhen 2, Tufted duck 16, Greylag 1, Cormorant 2, Black-headed gull 40
Wader marsh – visible from the lookout and the Brent Hide
Curlew 1, Moorhen 4, Black-headed gull 3, Teal 20, Mute swan 1, Greenshank 1
Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannóg
Tufted duck 14, Coot 1, Mallard 27, Moorhen 2
Saline Lagoon – visible from Lime Kiln Observatory
