Recent sightings - 30th May
The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, near high tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 40, Tufted duck 12, Black-headed gull +70, Shelduck 1, Lesser black-backed gull 1.
Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide
Shelduck 1, Black-headed gull 1, Pied wagtail 1.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Tufted duck 11, Gadwall 2, Black-headed gull +250, Mute swan 2, Coot 1. Two adult Shelduck were around with 10 recently hatched ducklings.
Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull +50.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull +50, Oystercatcher 19.
Peninsula Marsh - visible from Limekiln observatory and Peninsula lookout
Reed bunting 1, Shelduck 1, Black-headed gull 1.
