Recent sightings - 7th October

The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.

Estuary - visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Brent geese +4000, getting ready for our Brent event this coming weekend!

Oystercatcher 20, Curlew 1, Little egret 1, Shelduck 3, Black-headed gull 30, Black-tailed godwit 5.

Main lake - visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard 150, Tufted duck 5, Coot 5, Pintail 8, Common teal 4, Mute swan 2, Black-headed gull 10.

Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide

The flock of 20-30 Twite keeps feeding in the late fruiting plants in the islands and hedgerow.

Freshwater Lagoon - visible fron Brent Hide and Crannog

Mallard 20, Mute swan 1.

Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory

The Kingfisher was fishing voraciously this morning. Little grebe 3, Common teal 2.
