This November get up close to stunning wetland wildlife thanks to The National Lottery!

From 25 to 29 November 2019 WWT wetland centres are offering 2 for 1 admission to National Lottery players to say thanks for the over £10 million WWT has received from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) over the past 25 years.

Players just have to present a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard at a WWT Wetland Centre from 25 to 29 November to get 2 for 1 entry (with a full paying adult) to get close to fascinating animals, learn about amazing habitats, enjoy unique winter wildlife spectacles and lots more.

The support from National Lottery players has contributed hugely in enabling WWT to continue our charity work to conserve, restore and create wetlands, save wetland wildlife, and inspire everyone to value the amazing things healthy wetlands achieve for people and nature. NLHF funded projects have helped WWT create new wetland habitat, build accessible new hides, run education projects, open new visitor centres and most recently NLHF have donated £4.1m towards the ‘Slimbridge 2020’ project at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.

The 2 for 1 admission offer from WWT Wetland Centres is part of an initiative where participating National Lottery funded visitor attractions across the UK are saying ‘thanks’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket. The promotion is part of The National Lottery’s 25th Birthday celebrations, running for a five-week period (from 14 October until 6 December). There are some incredible activities planned across the UK to celebrate the good causes that have been made possible thanks to National Lottery players over the last 25 years.

This year the National Lottery turns 25, and what better way to say thank you than offering special offers at some of the places that players have helped fund….all the places that make the UK such a great place to live.

Ruth Seymour a director at WWT said “We’re so pleased to be able to say a big thank you to National Lottery players as part of The National Lottery’s 25th Birthday celebrations, who have helped us ensure that healthy wetland nature thrives and enriches lives here over the last 25 years. We’re really looking forward to welcoming them to our centres and hope they’ll enjoy exploring our beautiful reserves and meeting our amazing wildlife up close. Winter is a great time to visit as nature provides some spectacular sights from starling murmurations to thousands of migrating Bewick’s swans flying in from Russia."
