Our talented artist from Kate’s Carnival will bring each design to life in a rainbow of colours, from shimmering wings and bold patterns to flashes of blues, greens, and metallic details. It’s a wonderful way for children to feel part of the festival, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wetlands, while embracing the beauty of one of summer’s most dazzling insects.
Drop into the Face Painting station for a fun and relaxed experience that adds an extra splash of colour to your day. With dragonfly-inspired designs, bright colours, and playful details, it’s perfect for capturing special memories and festival photos. Included with entry tickets, there’s no need to book—simply join the queue when you’re ready (please note this activity is only on specified dates, there may be a short wait at busy times).

What age of child can have their face painted?
This activity is for children 3 and older only.
Can I book a timeslot for my child’s facepainting?
It isn’t possible to book for a free facepainting session. There may be a wait at busy times.
What type of paint will be used?
The facepaints used are non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and water activated paints, easily removed with soap and water. Manufacturers say do not leave face paints on overnight. All cosmetics can, on rare occasions cause allergic reactions and the product should not be applied near the eyes nor to sensitive or broken skin.
Who is Kate’s carnival?
Based in Chichester, but working throughout West Sussex, Kate's Carnival is known for bold, vibrant face painting and for creating an instant rapport with children.
How long will it take?
This will depend on if you request a stencilled design or not but we estimate it will take 5-10 minutes for your design to be complete.
