Sea eagle, great crested grebe & teal
Its been a week of wild, rainy and windy weather! We sighted one of the white tailed eagles again on Mon 7 Nov, flying over the reserve from the Offham Hangar.
On Saturday and Monday a juvenile great crested grebe was onsite seen from the Ramsar hide. A little grebe has been a regular at the Scrape hide. On Sunday we had 24 teal at the Scrape hide and 5 lapwing at the Ramsar hide. We've been seeing up to 9 cormorants on the islands from the Sand Martin hide this week. You should be able to spot some snipe from both Scrape hide and Ramsar hide. Remeber this week we are open until 5.30 pm on Wed 9 and Sat 12 Nov for the opportunity to watch the marsh harriers come in for the evening roost.

Lapwing hide: 2 moorhen, 8 wood pigeon, 1 pheasant
Scrape hide: 8 snipe, 1 kingfisher
Ramsar hide: 1 little grebe, 8 coromorants, 1 little egret.
Offham hangar: 1 white-tailed eagle

Ramsar & Sand martin hides: 8 common gulls, 8 cormorants, 1 little egret, 2 snipe
Scrape hide: 2 snipe, 1 little grebe, 24 teal.

Ramsar hide: 1 grey heron, 5 cormorants, 4 cattle egrets, 7 mallards, 2 shelducks, 2 little egrets, 1 kingfisher
Sand martin hide: 2 little egrets, 3 cormorants
Scrape Hide: 11 Canada geese, 1 gadwall, 1 longtailed tit
Wood Loop: 2 blue tits, 1 chaffinch, 2 gold finches, 11 greylags, 14 Canada geese, 35 coots, 2 moorhens, 5 tufted ducks.
