Become a Junior Wetland Ranger this Summer!

Learn what it takes to care for our beautiful wetlands and help us with our daily mission to save wetland nature.

Set off to explore and take part in fun activities to discover what makes wetlands amazing. With exciting wetland challenges to reconnect you with nature through wild play and exploration, it’s a wild day out for the whole family!

Enjoy adventure-packed Saturdays of ranger activities with our team throughout the holidays. Designed to teach valuable skills while having fun outdoors, these interactive challenges allow you to get more hands-on with nature. Give some of our staff-led activities a go this summer!

12pm - 12.30pm: Come and meet our feathered friends on a tour of ‘close encounters’ area with one of our Keepers. Discover what it takes to look after our ducks and geese, find out about the hatching process and explore eggs from a range of different species.

12.30pm – 1pm: Have fun at our role play area! Grab a mini broom, shovel or wheelbarrow and have a go at ‘ranger activities’. Plus find out more from our team about how we keep our feathered friends safe and healthy.

1pm – 1.30pm: Make a recycled paper plant pot in the sensory garden and plant it with seeds to take home and watch it blossom.

Pre-booking for activities is recommended as spaces are limited to 30 people per session. To reserve a space please call the centre on 02891 874146.

This is a free activity so is included with normal admission or free for WWT members.
