The Journey of The Dragonfly Trail

Discover the magic of dragonflies!
Zip, dart, and flutter your way around our enchanting trail, The Journey of The Dragonfly, part of this year’s Dragonfly Festival. This self-guided adventure invites families to explore the incredible life cycle of one of nature’s most fascinating insects — the dragonfly.
From tiny eggs to aerial acrobats, follow the dragonfly’s journey through fun, interactive trail boards nestled along the waterways of our peaceful wetland nature reserve. Along the way, you’ll:
- Learn how dragonflies grow and transform
- Discover fascinating facts at each stop
- Take on mini-challenges to see what it’s like to be a dragonfly
- Encourage little explorers to connect with nature
On the map, head towards the Peter Scott Hide to find the beginning of the trail.
Perfect for curious young minds, this trail is designed to be easy to follow, with gentle exploration and plenty of surprises along the way. Don't miss your chance to see through the eyes of a dragonfly with our special telescope!
The trail is available for you to enjoy at your own pace until 22 September 2025.
