WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. Recent sightings 17th - 20th November

British Steel Hide

Plenty of waders still being seen over the saline lagoons with 239 Dunlin, 387 Black-tailed Godwit, 24 Redshank, 17 Greenshank, 156 Lapwing and a lone Snipe. The Spoonbill continues to be seen regularly, and spotted over the weekend include Marsh Harrier and Avocet. Large numbers of Wigeon have also been seen, up to 94 today.

 

Millennium Wetlands

Plenty to be seen across the wetlands with large numbers of Gadwall spread across the site, other ducks include Teal, Shelduck, Tufted Duck, Shoveler and Mallard. Spotted over deep water lake have been Kingfisher, Black-tailed Godwit, Lapwing, Little Grebe, and roosting in the trees around the lake have been 70 Cormorant and 18 Little Egret.. Kestrel, Red Kite and Buzzard have been spotted around the wetlands, as well as 2 Tawny Owls. 2 Skylark have been seen flying over the wetlands, as well as 150 Wood Pigeon.
