Highlights include Garganey, Little Ringed Plover, Avocet, and Lesser Whitethroat

Seen over the saline lagoons recently includes Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Whimbrel, Wigeon, Shoveler, Shelduck and Little Egret. An Egyptian Goose has been seen on the lagoons over the weekend, an Avocet has been feeding the water in front of the Michael Powell hide this morning, and 4 Spoonbill are still present and visible.
Over on the Dafen Scrapes the Lapwing are still visibly displaying, today there is a pair of Little Ringed Plover displaying together around the scrapes, and a Lesser Whitethroat has been heard in the brambles along the sea wall.
On the freshwater lagoon there is a pair of Garganey visible from the boardwalk hide and observatory which have been there for a few days.

Millennium Wetlands
On Deep Water lake we now have numerous Lapwing chicks from 10 clutches on the main island and cockleshell beds, they are very well hidden so keep an eye out. Also on deep water lake have been 450 Black-tailed Godwit, 15 Pochard, Little Grebe, Grey Heron, Teal, Tufted Duck, Shelduck, and a Snipe was seen over the reed beds from the Welsh Water hide. Other birds seen around the reserve include Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Willow Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Whitethroat and Lesser Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Song Thrush and Blackcap.

Other wildlife seen on the reserve includes Hairy Dragonfly, Holly Blue butterfly, and Fox.
