Recent sightings 27th - 30th July
Highlights include, Garganey, Green sandpiper and Purple hairstreak

British Steel Hide
Groups of redshank and greenshank have been seen feeding on the saline lagoons. Over 40 lapwing have been seen sheltering on the Dafen scrapes including a number of juveniles. Common and green sandpiper have been seen feeding around the edge of the Dafen scrapes. Two female garganey have been seen from the Goodall's hide today (Tuesday). Large numbers of swallows have been seen feeding over the salt marsh. Teal are staring to appear in larger numbers once again on the freshwater lagoon.
Millennium wetlands
Little grebe family's have been seen from the Herons wing hide. Large numbers of black-tailed godwit have been seen on Deep water lake. Pochard and tufted duck are seen feeding from the Peter scott hide. Sparrowhawks have been seen hunting regularly over Deep water lake. Chiffchaff and blackcap are often heard singing on the northern loop of the reserve.
Grass snake, slow worm and common lizard have been seen around the reserve on log piles and under reptile refuges. Speckled wood, gatekeeper and purple hairstreak butterflys have been seen around the northern loop of the reserve.
