Plan Your Visit: Sunday 8 February

The Llanelli Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday. WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is open as usual. Access is maintained from the Loughor Bridge side, but the road from the Machynys side will be closed until around 11am. All roads should reopen as normal from 11am. Map and full info here.

Recent Sightings 2nd - 4th October

Little Stint, Ruff, Spoonbill, Spotted Redshank, Peregrine

British Steel hide

The large tides recently have brought in many different species of Waders including: Little Stint, Spotted Redshank, Ruff, Greenshank, Knot, Grey Plover and Black-tailed Godwits all of which have had to contend with hunting Peregrine Falcons and Sparrowhawks. There are still Spoonbills and plenty of Little Egrets around as well as the long staying Cattle Egret.

Millennium Wetlands

Kingfishers are easily seen from either the Herons Wing Hide or the Peter Scott Hide looking over the Deep Water Lake. Little Grebes and Lapwings can also been seen on the Deep Water Lake. There are some mixed Tit flocks around the Millennium Wetalnds which can include Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tit and Treecreeper.
