Plan Your Visit: Sunday 8 February

The Llanelli Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday. WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is open as usual. Access is maintained from the Loughor Bridge side, but the road from the Machynys side will be closed until around 11am. All roads should reopen as normal from 11am. Map and full info here.

Recent sightings 2nd-7th February

Highlights this week on the reserve include, Juvenile Goshawk, Pochard and regular sightings of the Otter

Millennium Wetlands


Smaller groups of our resident ducks have been seen over Deep Water Lake recently including, 15 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 20 Teal and 10 Shoveler. A groups of 6 Pochard has been seen from the Herons Wing Hide. Goldcrest and Long-tailed Tits have been seen around the Northern loop of the reserve as well as a Juvenile Goshawk. Groups of Snipe have been seen regularly on the stone islands in front of the Peter Scott Hide.

Our resident Otters continue to make regular appearances throughout the week, typically seen between 9:30am and 2pm with the most recent sighting being just this morning from the Herons Wing Hide.
