A drake smew has been seen at two locations this morning and last seen on the lagoon from the observatory hide. Other sightings include at least 5 Mediterranean gull, 70 black headed gull, 2 common sandpiper and 8 greylag goose.
British steel hide
2 ruff, brent goose, pink footed goose, 8 little egret, 41 black tailed godwit, 81 shelduck, 7 lapwing, 35 swallow, 3 house martin and 4 sand martin
Millennium wetlands
2 whitethroat, 3 lesser whitethroat, 15 chiffchaff, 2 reed bunting, 11 blackcap, 5 cetti’s, 30 reed, 6 sedge and willow warbler all heard singing around the millennium wetlands. Other sightings include 75 black headed gull, 2 oystercatcher, 4 little grebe, 2 teal, 3 shoveler, 5 pochard, 7 cormorant, kestrel and 2 buzzard
