Bird sightings

White fronted goose and pink footed goose on the NRA scrapes and are best viewed from the British steel hide. Other sightings today include chiffchaff, willow warbler, blackcap, reed bunting, 245 black tailed godwit, 12 knot, spotted redshank, greenshank, 16 lapwing, 7 little egret, 39 greylag goose, 39 shelduck, 61 gadwall, 115 mallard, 12 pochard, 41 tufted duck, 2 little grebe, peregrine, buzzard, 2 sparrowhawk and water rail.

 

Butterfly sightings

Orange tip, speckled wood, small tortoiseshell, comma, red admiral and brimstone.

 

Dragonfly/damselfly sightings

At least four large red damselfly have been sighted around the millennium wetlands.
