Chilean flamingos

ℹ️ Flamingos off show
Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!
Thanks for your understanding.

Wader Lake was the setting for two seasons in one day this morning.

A flock of colourful lapwing was preening happily on the icy water, while in the heron hedge above, the spring sap was clearly rising as the majestic grey herons jostled and squabbled for nesting territory.

Nature in action! :-)
