Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!

Your summer adventure awaits...

Have you planned your summer adventure at WWT Washington?

We have an exciting array of events and family activities taking place this summer. So whether you fancy getting stuck into finding great diving beetles, water boatman and other wildlife that live in our ponds at pond dipping (every Tuesday and Friday - 11am-12noon and 1-2pm) enjoying outdoor dining and sweet treats at campfire cooking (Saturdays 29 July and 5 August - 11am-12noon and 1-2pm), making a fantastic wooden trinket to take home in wood workshops with Mark Crowley (Thursdays 10 and 24 August - 10am - 3pm drop-in sessions) or a fantastic bubble bonanza with bubbleologist Jesse Ward (Saturday 26 August) , there really is something for everyone!
