Access is available to the Main Observatory as well as Nelson-Lyle hide with wellies. Lyle, Friends and Reedbed Hides are closed due flooded footpaths. Scooters and wheelchairs are not permitted on the footpaths, so can only get to the main hide at present. Swan feeds and hare walks are running as normal.

Artist Gill McCoy features in the gallery this March & April

Posted on 01 Mar 2019

Gill currently works at WWT Welney, and you may well see her as you are welcomed to the centre on a visit.

Gill’s collection depicts many different species, some local to the wetlands of Fens, and some from further afield in the UK. Gill originates from Yorkshire, and has spent her life shepherding around the world and managing a rare breeds farm which opened its doors to the public.

Caring for livestock demands good observation skills and knowing your subject; the same applies to art. The challenge is conveying what you know onto paper - that's what I'm trying to do now....in an original...if untrained way.

There are framed works, canvases and cards available.
