Joan Kirby - Welney in art

Joan Kirby - Welney in art

Joan Kirby, Stamford-based artist, has recreated some wonderful wetland views at Welney in a range of art.

Visitors will recognise the view from the cafe over Lady Fen in 'Dreamscape', views across the main lagoon from the wing hides in 'Return to Peace' and 'Room with a view' and the furthest reaches of our trails in 'Summer walk'. Her painting captures the soft dreamlike qualities of landscape and the magical changes the seasons evokes.

Joan says "art is one of her biggest passions and giving joy through sharing this form of expression with others is very rewarding".

The selection of works of art can be enjoyed and purchased in the Wigeon Cafe at WWT Welney. The originals are canvases, but prints are also available. These are in addition to our wonderful artists, displaying work throughout the year in our gallery.
