Access to Main Hide and Nelson-Lyle for everyone, including mobility scooters. Wellies needed to Lyle, not mobility scooters. Further hides to come as water levels continue to drop. Lady Fen trails are closed now until after breeding season, but great views from cafe veranda. All roads open and accessible.

Reserve access

The visitor centre and main hide are the extent of the reserve access at present due to increased water levels.  The A1101 between Welney village and our centre is officially closed now, access still possible from Littleport or Ten Mile Bank via the A10.

Swan feeds are continuing as normal (although the wheelbarrow is now floating!) and there are still spits of land seen from this hide which are filled with wading birds.

289 whooper swans on Lady Fen feeding on the potatoes; these are nice and close to the centre so views are brilliant.  We managed to spot 14 leg ringed birds this morning including the pair in the photo (with a third ringed swan photo bombing them in the background).

Hare walks are unaffected by flooding on the reserve and so will continue as normal.

Access to the photography basement is now not available until the water levels drop.
