A male Bullfinch was photographed along the path leading to the United Utilities hide this morning, and feeders in front of the Janet Kear hide hosted a range of species, including the long-staying (now resident ?) Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker, and female Brambling. Around the reserve, 3 or more Marsh Harriers continue to provide visitors with the spectacle of thousands of Lapwings taking to the air as they avoid the attentions of these superb raptors.
