Moving forward

I have had a few planning meetings recently about the development of the waterfowl gardens and I am pleased to say that things will start moving forward within a couple of months. Martin Mere's waterfowl gardens were developed in 1975 so I am sure it is no surprise to everyone that we need to revamp a lot of the areas, especially from the point of view of de-silting ponds and making the water qulaity better.  We are aiming to do a number of side pens this year to redevelop them and we will be starting in the Australasia area hopefully in March.  This may obviously mean that certain areas of the gardens are closed off for a period of time but we will aim to manage this to create as little disturbance to your visit as possible. There will also be a lot of development on the North America loopway but I hope you will all think that the outcome will really add to the Martin Mere experience.

Once the developments start in March I will aim to give you a weekly update as to the progress of the development and what will be happening next.

I am still working on budgets as well as I have my budget meeting coming up on Thursday, fingers crossed it will go well.
