Breeding Cranes the first in the west for 400 years

Rushy

Two Cranes from the Great Crane Project have built a nest and laid at least one egg in the Rushy. The pair, Monty the male and Christine the female have been the most active pair and were responsible for the earlier nest building efforts in front of the Martin Smith hide. They can best be viewed from the wooden hide next to "Infocus" in the far left hand corner of the pool. A 24 hour watch is in operation and the nest is monitored by a CCTV system. We expect the young to hatch some time around the 26th to the 29th of May.
