Record Number Of Swans Counted At Martin Mere in 2015
Cold temperatures have resulted in WWT Martin Mere recording their highest number of whooper swans in 2015. This morning our dedicated staff and volunteers have counted 1720 whooper swans on the mere, which is a record number for this migration year, run

Highest count of the winter so far of Whooper Swan with 1720 birds on the reserve this morning. No snow so far. It is unusual for us to get any lying snow in this area. Both Ross's and Bar-headed Goose hanging around with Mallard and Greylag respectively.
