Mediterranean Gull
A 1st summer Mediterranean Gull was around the Mere on and off during the day with small numbers of Black headed Gull. Both Rook and a single Raven were seen today. At least 2 Ruff were reported today along with 2 Yellow Wagtail out on Woodend Marsh. From

Flamingo chicks hatch at WWT Martin Mere
Four greater flamingo chicks have been born at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre. The cold weather has meant that the flamingos were late to lay their eggs. Twelve eggs have been laid so far this year; so the grounds team are still expecting many more chicks

All well on the nest despite a sleet shower
