Todays sightings
Friends hide Black-winged stilt in amongst lapwings - 1 Grey plover - 3 Dunlin - 25 Bewick's swans - family group flew in to the reserve during the day, 2 adults and 3 cygnets. The next swan count is due this week so check back for total numbers. Marsh

Local Bewick's Swan
We received today the first sighting of the autumn of a single Bewick's Swan at Hundred End, on the Ribble with Whoopers. Interesting to see how many will turn up this winter and if any will visit the reserve? A chilly but clear day and another forecasted
