Recent sightings 4-10th September

Sightings: Kingfishers, Spoonbill, Common Lizards, Slow Worm, Red Admiral.

Wader numbers this week have been very high this week with the large high tides in the mornings pushing over a thousand waders onto the lagoons. These have included: large numbers of Curlews, Black tailed godwits and Redshank. There were also particularly high numbers of Greenshank with up to 74 birds roosting on the lagoon. A Spoonbill has also been seen feeding on the fresh water lagoon.

Millennium Wetlands

Kingfishers have also been a regular sight this week with numerous sightings from Deep Water Lake. On a reptile survey we counted a high number of Common Lizards basking under our heat matts. On our butterfly survey we saw 26 Specked wood, 3 Comma and 7 Red admiral.
