Fabulous numbers of birds today and very active after yesterday's poor weather.
Little Grebe and juvenile male Goldeneye displaying in front of Main Observatory.
A record-breaking flock of Golden Plover -8,000- being the highest count at WWT Welney ever. Those and a flock of Starlings were competing for best aerobatic display over Lady Fen.

On your way home North from the centre it is worth looking out for 4 or 5 Heron at intervals along the grass verge. They seem to like it there around 5pm.
