Today's sightings
Zeiss Hide
The Red Necked Phalarope is still here and showing well, two Cranes were close to the hide among the rushes and a further 3 in the Bottom New Piece among the buttercups all looking Great. Three Avocets and 1 Redshank are the only waders, Shelduck, Gadwall, Shoveler (5) and Buzzard two.
Kingfisher Hide
A brief view of a Kingfisher here this morning but flew straight past the nesting bank which is clearly not being used at the moment.
Rushy
The three Avocet pairs are all incubating well giving superb views close to the hide.The Black Headed Gull colony around 35 pairs is very busy with young hatching and the Oystercatcher pair still have at least two young
Holden Tower
There were at least 18 Lapwing 18 plus at least two 1/2 grown young. There were 5 Curlew distant on the estuary. The five Cranes are moving between here and the South Finger
