Common Crane (8 Great Crane Project birds on site today)
The Cranes were around the nest again today and had to drive away a pair of Mute Swans that had taken over the nest. The male Mute Swan was no match for the male Crane who quickly chassed the swans away. The male Crane also chassed away two other female Cranes that came too close to his chosen female. The pair are now adding more material to the nest and showing very well from the Martin Smith Hide.
