Windy but no rain!
The cold/warm front divide pushed further north meaning we were spared more rain, instead we had a very mild but very windy Sunday. It's not always easy to pick up the birds in these conditions but some excellent sightings were had!
A six species of raptor day with Merlin, 2 Peregrine (ad+imm), 2 Marsh Harrier, 3+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Tawny Owl in the usual spot, directions from in focus.
More diversity in the waders with 1000+ Lapwing, 500+ Black-tailed Godwit, 50+ Ruff, 60 Oystercatcher, 7 Golden Plover and 5+ Common Snipe.
A Bewick's Swan was found late afternoon at the back of the Mere, the second sighting this week.
Sixteen species of wildfowl present including 3 Goldeneye (2 male+female) on the Mere.
The forecast looks great for for the next 7 days as high pressure starts to build!
