Reserve Update Wednesday 11th October - Wild Weather!

There are still over 10,000 Barnacle Geese on site today, mostly remaining down on the Merse due to the bad weather conditions.  The weather does seem to have led to an influx of Wigeon with over 200 in Corner field and more observed in the Newfield.  There were also 250+ Teal and 50+ Golden Plover taking advantage of the more sheltered conditions in Corner field.  No new named Whooper Swans have arrived and numbers joining us at the Swan feeds are usually around the forty to fifty mark currently.

Named Whooper Swan arrivals:

ZHP - Andrew K    &    YFZ - Ruth C          A pair with 5 cygnets

YFS - Obi Swan Kenobi   &   YHZ - Princess Layer ( but she has lost her coloured darvic ring)

YSJ - Sheldon Whooper
