About me
I had aways found refuge within the natural environment, developing a strong bond from a young age. I wanted to seek any opportunity I could to help protect it. Therefore, I went on to complete a BSc Wildlife Conservation at the University of West England and then onto doing an MRes Wildlife Conservation at the University of Southampton in association with Marwell Zoo. For my thesis I designed a habitat assessment for ungulates in data starved areas by using remote sensing data. All the while, undertaking several local and international volunteering roles.
My career has evolved to utilise data to communicate conservation priority and the success of projects. I started as a Research Officer (Citizen Science) for WWT helping to develop the WaterWatch Collective before moving onto my current role. Now I help to support conservation projects across the trust to ensure they have the tools and data they need to manage project risk and maximise conservation success.
My role
My role focuses on ensuring that conservation projects are delivered effectively, responsibly, and to the highest standards. I oversee project assurance processes, helping teams manage risks, maintain compliance, and meet environmental and organisational objectives. This involves reviewing project plans, monitoring progress, and providing guidance to improve delivery and impact.
I work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting them to align their work with WWT’s mission to protect wetlands and wildlife. A key part of my role is strengthening governance frameworks, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across projects. By embedding best practices and lessons learned, I help maximise conservation outcomes and long-term sustainability.
Ultimately, my role contributes to safeguarding vital wetland habitats, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring that WWT’s conservation efforts achieve meaningful, measurable results for nature and communities.
