About me

Prior to WWT I have always worked as a Secretary in the financial services industry, my previous job role being PA/Executive Secretary to the Chief Executive Officer at the Stroud & Swindon Building Society where I worked for 12½ years.

In December 2011, I joined WWT as Senior Administrator, initially in the CPD Admin team, and I am now based within the Conservation Evidence Department. I have always been interested in wildlife and feel most fortunate to work with so many passionate conservationists and scientists. My job at WWT is much more interesting now as it involves administrative tasks in relation to conservation, endangered species and wetlands rather than in my previous job role when it was all about savings, mortgages and pensions!

I have lived locally in Cam for most of my life and in my spare time enjoy gardening, cycling and walking in the countryside with my cockapoo puppy.

My role

My role is varied and involves providing assistance and secretarial support to the Head of Conservation Evidence and administrative support for my colleagues in the Conservation Evidence team. Helping with travel arrangements, arranging meetings, ordering goods, recording expenditure, processing invoices, expense claims, credit card statements, dealing with all other paperwork as required and recording expenditure on the Finance Database for the Black Tailed Godwit EU Life project.

Although my job role is admin related, I am always happy to lend a hand with other tasks and a few years ago I was given the amazing opportunity of helping out at Crane School, by dressing up as a crane parent, to assist with walking and feeding the baby cranes and also raking the outside pens/cleaning. This was a fantastic experience and one that I will never forget.
