About me

I’ve always been interested in the natural world, and I’ve been lucky enough to have lived for most of my life not too far from WWT Slimbridge. When my own children were small we spent a lot of time exploring the great outdoors where I had the privilege of experiencing their wonder and joy in everything; splashing in puddles, slugs and snails, a freshly created mole hill, badgers caught on our camera trap, birds nesting in the garden, a clear and starry night, an interesting looking stick or stone and glorious mud!

I joined the WWT Slimbridge Team, first as an administrator and then as part of the Sales and Marketing Team before making the move to work for the Conservation Directorate. Whilst working at Slimbridge I was lucky enough to meet some inspiring and dedicated people and I have learnt so much from them about the wonderful flora a fauna of this part of the world.

When I’m not at work I love walking my dogs through the fields near my house and along the river. I also love reading, crafts of all kinds and being in my garden. I also love walking and cycling, and I try to cycle to work at Slimbridge as often as possible.

My role

I provide admin support for UK Programmes, International Programmes and Programme Development, helping to arrange travel and meetings, taking minutes and helping to make sure that the important work everyone does can continue as effectively and efficiently as possible.

I always like an excuse to escape the office though, so I’m looking forward to seeing what other interesting opportunities working for the Conservation team throws my way!
