A possible reserve record of 76 snipe was counted by Richard Hesketh this morning with the lapwings in the wet fields. As the rains eased just after lunchtime, the huge lapwing flock moved from Prince Phillip's field to the corner field, right in front of

Caerlaverock Osprey HJ back on the Solway
One of the three osprey chicks hatched from the Caerlaverock nest in 2010 has appeared on the nest at Wigtown Bay. Just before he left the nest, the young osprey was fitted with a unique leg ring made of blue plastic with the letters HJ engraved on it in
