North Down Craft Collective

This year we will be working in collaboration with the North Down Craft Collective who will bring monthly craft pop-ups and larger art & craft fairs to our visitor centre.

North Down Craft Collective was established in 2013 bringing together makers and artists from the Ards and North Down borough. What started as a monthly market in Holywood has now become a collective of creatives showcasing their work through exhibitions, pop-ups and fairs.

The group held exhibitions in the gallery at Castle Espie in 2020 and 2022.

A designated retail space, The Craft Room, was opened in Comber in 2016 and has recently moved to Newtownards. The shop showcases the work of the collective as well as other Northern Irish makers and runs craft workshops and events.

Many of the artists and makers take inspiration from the landscape and wildlife in the borough and these pieces will make up a large part of the work on show at Castle Espie.

Pop-Ups

3 makers will be in the visitor centre on the last Sunday each month starting from the 28th April.

Craft Fairs

A larger market with 25 makers, will take place on Sunday 25th August as part of August Craft Month and a Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday 8th December.
