WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. We will reopen on Thursday 21 May as usual. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Recent Sightings 2nd-8th October

British Steel Hide

A count from the hide this morning (8th) on the falling tide produced three Spoonbills and a Spotted Redshank as well as 1200+ roosting waders including Black and Bar-tailed Godwits, Curlews, Redshank, Greenshank, Knot, Dunlin and Lapwing. A range of ducks included 85 Wigeon, a Pintail and 40 Shoveler. Other birds seen included a Kingfisher, a Mediterranean Gull, 11 Little Egrets and two Grey Herons.

Millennium Wetland

A Kingfisher has been a frequent visitor to the perches in front of the Peter Scott Hide this week, and Snipe, Lapwing and Black-tailed Godwits have been seen on the Deep Water Lake as well. Worth keeping an eye out for Otters this coming week as we draw closer to winter they become more active and 'showy' around the hides and the screen in the woodland walk area.
