WWT Llanelli will be closed for one day on Wednesday 20 May.

We’re sorry for this short-term inconvenience, but this date has been chosen to allow our team to rearrange the shop and entrance ahead of the upcoming Welcome Project construction, and get everything ready in time for a fantastic May half-term experience. We will reopen on Thursday 21 May as usual. Thank you for your support and understanding.

A pair of Buzzards have been seen regularly perching on wooden posts out on the saltmarsh. Curlew, Dunlin, Black-tailed Godwits, Lapwing, Greenshank, Redshank and Spotted Redshank have all been seen gathering at high tide on the Saline Lagoons along with the usual flock of five Spoonbills.

The Otter family is still being seen, mainly around the Deep Water Lake area. Wildfowl are starting their courtship displays with Shelduck and Shoveler the most active at the moment. A Treecreeper has been seen along the northern loop often associating with Long-tailed Tits. On the Stony Islands there was an excellent count of 47 Snipe! A very good count for the reserve.
