Winner of the Work Your Butt competition

I was delighted to hear that a school in our district won the Work your Butt competition.

Staff and pupils at  Netherfield Primary School near Nottingham were delighted
to win Best Worked Butt’ category in WWT’s recent Festival of Gardening ‘Work Your Butt’ competition which promoted the wise use of water by the nation’s garden
owners and encouraged everyone to use their water butts to wash the car, water
the plants or even top up their pond. Encouraged by Clare Selwood of the
Netherfield Eco Team the pupils have helped raise awareness of the benefit of
this water saving device by colourfully decorating butts in the local
community.

Chris Whitehead Learning Manger at Martin Mere Wetland Centre presented at the
school assembly  before Susan Barley of NFU Mutual, which sponsored the
competition, presented £250 of gardening vouchers to the proud pupils.
