Today's sightings- Big tides, waders coming in from the estuary.

Zeiss Hide

Over the morning tide and throughout the day the following numbers noted... Curlew Sandpiper, 3 Little Stint, 155 Ringed Plover, 12 Sanderling, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 9 Greenshank, Turnstone, 328 Dunlin, Spotted Redshank, 20 Redshank, 36 Ruff, 200 Teal plus Little Grebe and common duck species. The Marsh Harrier juvenile was hunting here and all over the reserve.

South Lake

Some the same birds as above commuted between sites but the following were noted..37 Red Knot, 5 Avocet, Spotted Redshank juvenile, 39 Redshank, 192 Black-tailed Godwit, 200 Lapwing, 5 Ruff (4 adults, 1 juvenile), Teal 60, 6 Wigeon, 40 Shoveler, Great Crested and Little Grebe plus plenty of commoner water birds.

Martin Smith Hide

Great White Egret 1 from approx. 1330-1410hrs when flew N plus Crane 2 and aLittle Egret.

Holden Tower

At high tide a juvenile Bar-tailed Godwit was among the 200 Curlew, 3 Tunstone (adult and 2 juveniles), 191 Ringed Plover and15 Dunlin roosted. A Merlin was seen hunting over the Dumbles. A few Yellow Wagtail and 1 Wheatear on the fences.
