Unfortunately there is no bus service directly to Slimbridge. The nearest bus stop is on the main A38 at the top of the village, where the no. 65 bus service from Gloucester-Dursley stops frequently. The timetable can be found here.
It is a 2.1 mile walk from the bus stop to WWT Slimbridge, down through the village and along the lane. There is pavement through the main areas of the village, and then you have to walk along the road, or you can follow a public footpath through fields for part of the walk.
The nearest train station is Cam & Dursley, which is 3.4 miles away, and is on the Bristol to Gloucester train line.
We are located on the Sustrans route, number 41. Free bike racks are situated outside the centre. Please bring your own lock.
Slimbridge Wetland Centre is conveniently located near to the M5 between Gloucester and Bristol. Exit at either junctions 13 or 14 and follow our brown duck signs. We have a large free car park. Coaches are also very welcome, with parking available close to the Visitor Centre and toilets.
We now have 6 electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints in place, two in the main car park and four next to them in the Orchard car park. There is a small charge of 25p/kWH, for their use to cover our electricity costs. These chargepoints are on the Podpoint Network and appear on the Podpoint and Zapmap chargepoint maps so you can double check they are available and working before coming to the site. If you haven't already, save time by downloading the Podpoint app before your visit.
When travelling through Slimbridge village please be mindful of our neighbours and reduce your speed to 20mph once you leave the A38.
