How much does it cost to stay at Warblers’ Meadow?

Warblers’ Meadow offers a cosy nature retreat in Gloucestershire. Prices include unlimited access to Slimbridge Wetland Centre during opening hours.

All of our prices include free, unlimited access to Slimbridge Wetland Centre during opening hours.

Two-berth huts cost £150 per night on weekdays and £175 on weekends.

Four-berth huts are £175 per night on weekdays and £200 on weekends.

A minimum two-night stay applies.

Each of our five shepherd’s huts is named after a warbler species found at Slimbridge and offers a private pond and mini wetland just outside the door, providing a peaceful, nature-filled retreat.

A cosy and comfortable hideaway for two, our two berth shepherd’s huts are perfect for couples looking for a short break in the Cotswolds.

Sedge Warbler

Ideal for families or couples, Sedge Warbler offers two cosy sleeping areas, a shared kitchenette, and bathroom - blending comfort, space, and nature-filled privacy.

Reed Warbler

Warblers’ Meadow includes step-free access, a wide doorway, and a wheelchair-friendly ramp - offering a comfortable retreat for guests with reduced mobility.

Can I choose which shepherd’s hut to stay in?

Yes - As long as it is available on the dates that you would like to stay, then yes, you will have the option to choose your hut when you book.

Is Warblers’ Meadow suitable for children?

Each hut has its own private wetland area / pond. As with all open water, it is advisable to monitor children closely. There is plenty of space for children to run around outside, however Warblers’ Meadow is in a wild part of our site and the wildlife aren’t used to younger visitors.

What size are the beds in the shepherd’s huts?

All the main beds in the shepherd’s huts are King Size. The two sofa beds in Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler are Double beds.

Can I bring my dog or pet to Warblers’ Meadow?

No. Unfortunately we can’t allow dogs or pets of any kind, as our wildlife may become distressed.

How much does it cost to stay at Warblers’ Meadow?

Warblers’ Meadow offers a cosy nature retreat in Gloucestershire. Prices include unlimited access to Slimbridge Wetland Centre during opening hours. Canoe and wildlife safaris are available during summer months for a small additional fee.

Two-berth huts cost £150 per night on weekdays and £175 on weekends.

Four-berth huts are £175 per night on weekdays and £200 on weekends.

How do I pay?

Payment is required when you book your stay and you can pay with all major debit and credit cards.

What time is check-in at Warblers’ Meadow?

Check-in is available every day. Please check in after 4pm. If you arrive earlier than that, please check with our Admissions team to see if the your hut has been cleaned and is ready for you.

Can I travel by public transport to Warblers’ Meadow?

You can get to us by train and bus.

It is now possible to book a Robin bus from Cam & Dursley train station. More details on the Robin bus service and how to book can be found here. The Robin bus drops off by the toilet block in our main car park. The Robin bus is wheelchair accessible, and a request can be made upon booking for wheelchair access. The Robin buses have one wheelchair space per bus.

Where do I park for Warblers’ Meadow and do I have to pay?

Warblers' Meadow guests have a dedicated parking area near to the shepherds huts. Please follow the signs in the car park. Parking is free at Warblers’ Meadow for guests. We also have a large free main car park for the visitor centre at WWT Slimbridge, which includes 17 designated disabled spaces and electric chargers.

On the day that you check out, if you plan on spending the day at the visitor centre, please move your car to the main car park.

Please check-out by 10am. You are welcome to stay and enjoy visiting WWT Slimbridge after you’ve checked out, please move your car to the main car park.

Are the shepherd’s huts accessible?

Warblers’ Meadow has flat, wide paths and one of our huts – Reed Warbler – has a step free access. This hut also has a wide doorway for easier entry. Whilst some limited walking is needed inside, it provides a welcoming and comfortable retreat for those who reduced mobility.

Is WWT Slimbridge accessible?

WWT Slimbridge is wheelchair accessible with level grounds, tarmac paths, gravel trails, and boardwalks over marshy sections. Ramps lead to reception and the main site. A Changing Places facility is available near the Visitor Centre and Restaurant during opening hours, and mobility scooters can be hired from admissions (pre-booking is essential, with a small deposit required). Are there cooking facilities in the shepherd’s huts?

The shepherd’s hut at Warblers’ Meadow are self-catering accommodation with well-equipped kitchenettes. We will provide a small bottle of milk (soya or oat milk are available on request) and a small selection of tea and coffee for your arrival.

Can I bring a barbecue to Warblers’ Meadow?

No. Unfortunately not, due to risk of fire.

Is there anywhere I can eat out locally?

Our restaurant at WWT Slimbridge is open during the day when the visitor centre is open. It opens at 9.30am and closes at 4pm. Find out more here.

The Tudor Arms pub has a good restaurant and is a short walk of about 10 minutes back up the approach road and on the other side of the canal. If you are walking back at night, we suggest taking a torch.

Gloucestershire is rich with pubs and restaurants, and you can find many within a short drive of Warblers' Meadow. Close by are The George in Cambridge, The Bell in Frampton On Severn, and The Badger in Eastington.

What time is WWT Slimbridge open?

We are open 364 days a year, 7 days a week, and you are welcome to visit during our opening hours.

What can I do at WWT Slimbridge during my stay?

There is plenty to see and do at WWT Slimbridge, and you have free access to our site during your stay at Warblers’ Meadow. Please visit our Experience page to find out everything you can do. Do also check with our Admissions team for daily updates. You will need to leave the main visitor site at closing time.

*Please note that our Canoe Safari and Wild Safari (both in the summer months only) have a small fee to pay.
