1 to 1 meetings & vending machines
I was in a meeting all day yesterday with my line manager looking at some exciting future projects at Martin Mere such as the current use of the building and how we can improve it, what we can offer indoors and the developments that are happening outside. It is great to be able to look forward and make plans - even with this poor weather and financial climate. Hopefully the weather will improve but the main thing is that we are busy when it was dry, we had over 2000 visitors at the weekend and it is busy today for our Toddler Thursday.
But just to show you how diverse my role is - I haev been out at North West Vending this morning looking at the different types of vending that are available as, especially in wet weather, we don't have the kiosks open but there may still be a demand for a hot drink in the hides or around the grounds, or walkabout guides etc. Due to the fact that we have such large areas in the grounds and reserve it is important to be able to offer facilities where possible.
We have been going into nurseries this week to do story time sessions and promote our summer activities to parents. This seems to have gone really well and we have had positive feedback from everyone involved. This is something we are hoping to do every season as we want to build up relationships with as many local clubs as possible.
