A first for me and Martin Mere

We have successfully hatched two Magpie geese goslings at Martin Mere in the last three days - this is a first for the centre and the first time that I have ever seen the goslings. We have always had magpie geese at the centre, even when I was grounds manager but we never got them to breed, so this is a fantastic achievement for the aviculture team.
I have been down to the duckery today to have a look at them for the first time and they are doing very well. It is a boy and a girl and they are in a brooder on the grass keeping warm. I took the picture below of them and I will also look to take some video footage as they grow.
