Brief news today with 8 Barnacle Geese with Pink-footed Geese late afternoon. As usual Marsh Harrier hunting around the reserve, 4+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Waders included 1000+ Lapwing, 70+ Ruff, 25 Black-tailed Godwit.

Otter sighting
At 3.10pm, a radio message from our reserve manager John: "I'm just sitting at Window on the Wear 2 watching an otter play in the river. It's heading downstream with the flow of the tide". Great stuff!
